GT40 – the Ford that beat Ferrari!

When Henry Ford exclaimed he was going to ‘build a car to crush Ferrari’ there seemed no better place to do so than in the world’s most prestigious sports car competition – the 24 hour endurance race at Le Mans which Ferrari had won every year from 1960 to 1965.

In the 1966 Le Mans race, however, the dominance of Ferrari was turned upside down. By sunrise, with the GT40s taking a convincing 1-2-3- clean sweep podium finish, the GT40 was firmly established as one of the world’s most iconic supercars, well deserving of its place in motorsport’s hall of fame.

Keith Burns’ ability to capture the power of a scene never fails to win the imagination and this superb piece is no exception. Giclée printed onto archival paper, each copy is personally hand-signed by the artist and individually numbered.
